Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Giffap collects, how we use it and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information – if you create an account: your username, email address and a securely hashed password.
- Activity on the site – videos you like or save, and basic usage such as view counts.
- Technical data – IP address, browser type and device information, used for security, fraud and abuse prevention and to keep the service working.
- Messages you send us – the information you enter in our contact, advertising and copyright forms.
Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and protect forms (session and security cookies). If you choose "Remember me", a long-lived cookie keeps you signed in on that device. We store a few things in your browser's local storage, never sent to us as a profile: preferences (for example the age confirmation and whether videos start muted), the videos you have watched recently (so the feed can show you new ones first), the video categories you tend to watch to the end, like or skip (so the feed can show you more of what you enjoy; this fades after a few days), which version of the feed your browser was given when we compare two versions, the date of your first visit and when your previous visit started, whether you have already seen our "add to home screen" offer, and—if you are not signed in—the videos you liked or saved. When you sign in or create an account, your likes and saves from this browser are added to your account. When the feed loads more videos, it sends up to ten of those category names with the request so our server can order the next videos; they are used for that request only, not stored and not linked to you. You can remove all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data. Advertisers whose ads appear on the site may use their own cookies under their own policies. Live cam previews (the "Live now" cards and the /live page) are loaded from Stripchat's servers, and choosing one takes you to Stripchat through our affiliate link; Stripchat's own privacy policy applies there.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, for how long, the type of device and browser, and the approximate country or city. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (such as _ga) and does not store full IP addresses. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site. Google processes it under its own privacy policy. You can opt out at any time by blocking cookies in your browser or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
We also count how many people are on the site right now, without cookies: while a page is open and visible, your browser sends a small signal about once a minute with a random ID for that browser tab, the type of page (for example the feed or a video), the video being watched, whether the device is mobile or desktop, the website that linked you here, how many videos and ads that tab has shown, whether this browser has visited before, and whether the site was opened from the home-screen app. We do not store your IP address with it. The live signals are deleted automatically within a few minutes; the start and end time of each tab's visit (with the counts above) are kept for at most three days and then reduced to daily totals. What we keep are anonymous totals only: visitors per minute (for one hour), and per day: visitors by country (as reported by our network provider, Cloudflare), device type and referring website, the number and length of visits, videos watched per visit, the share of returning visitors and how many visits were opened from the home-screen app. The same anonymous daily totals by country and device are kept for ad impressions and clicks. For each video we also count, per day, how often it was shown in the feed, how long it was watched and whether it was skipped or watched to the end (and, while we compare two versions of the feed, the same totals for each version), and how many visitors passed the age confirmation. We also count, per day and device type only, how quickly feed videos start and how often they pause to buffer. None of these totals can be linked back to you.
How we use information
- to provide the site and your account, including password resets and security emails;
- to protect the site against abuse, spam and fraud;
- to answer your messages and process copyright notices;
- to understand overall usage (for example which videos are popular).
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site (for example hosting and content delivery), when required by law, or to protect our rights and users. Copyright notices may be shared with the person whose content was reported, as the DMCA allows.
Retention
We keep account information while your account exists. Security logs and messages are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can update your username and email in your profile, and you can ask us to delete your account or to access, correct or export your data by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU/UK), you may have additional rights under data protection laws, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The site is strictly for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
