DMCA & Copyright Policy
Giffap respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and similar laws.
Reporting content
If you believe content on Giffap infringes your copyright, was published without the consent of a person depicted, or is otherwise unlawful, use the form below. Please include:
- your contact details (name, email address and, if you act for someone else, the rights holder you represent);
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed;
- the exact Giffap link(s) of the material you want removed;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name counts).
Reports about content shared without consent, or involving a minor, are treated with the highest priority and do not require copyright ownership.
What happens next
You receive a reference number by email. We review every notice and, when it is valid, remove or disable access to the material, usually within 48 hours. We may contact you if we need more information.
Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice through the same form, including the removed link(s), a statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed by mistake, your contact details and your signature.
Repeat infringers
Accounts and sources that repeatedly infringe copyright will be removed.
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing may make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).
